WILL 2017 BE LIKE 1967?

The United States was in a shooting war against a relentless opponent by the name of North Vietnam, while America remained engaged in a hotly contested war of words with the Soviet Union—now known as Russia—which was in its third decade. The year was 1967 and the citizens of the United States were largely restless because many of them felt they were not being treated equally, whether it was because of race, economic circumstance, gender or lifestyle. Politicians from the ruling classes, namely the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, were more interested with providing benefits for their families, friends and business associates, while practically ignoring the needs of the taxpayers that fueled government operations.

Many historians look back at 1967 and say there has never been, nor will there ever be a year like it. Could it be the backdrop for 2017?
